Coming Out

Diane Johanning, MA, LCPC offers an ongoing Coming Out Group for LGBT adults in Wheaton, IL.

NOVO: Renewing Joy in Life offers ongoing LGBT support groups in St. Charles, IL for teens and adults in their 20s.

PFLAG: Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. A national organization with local support groups for LGBTQ people coming out and their friends and families.

Unconditional Ministries A support network Christian Parents of LGBTQ children who have conservative beliefs about the Bible and Homosexuality but want to love their children unconditionally. They offer regularly scheduled conference calls for parents and other resources.

  1. Please add our group to the movement(above). Also, please join us on our FB page…Samford Alumni, Students and Faculty for LGBT Equality. Also, we will have a University sanctioned official tailgate tent on the Quad prior to The Samford Bulldog Homecoming Football game on November 16, 2013. All are welcome to join us for BBQ and pregame festivities and to meet fellow alumni, students and faculty advocating for LGBT equality on campus. Also, after the game, join us for the Jennifer Knapp concert at Southside Baptist Church. She will share her story as a gay person of faith and her incredible message through her music. This concert is free and open to the public through the generosity of PFLAG Birmingham and SAFE Samford.
